About St. Peter's Church, Clayworth
St. Peter’s Church, Clayworth is an active Anglican parish church in the Nottinghamshire village of Clayworth, within the Doncaster area. The building has Grade I listed status. In 2022 it became one of six parishes joined together as the Oswaldbeck Benefice.
Its oldest fabric is thought to originate in the opening decades of the eleventh century. Successive alterations were made across the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, followed by major conservation work under John Oldrid Scott during 1874–75. Inside are paintings completed in 1905 by Phoebe Anna Traquair and conserved by Elizabeth Hirst in 1996. Eight bells hang in the tower. They range in date from 1629 to 1998 and include work by founders based in Nottingham, Doncaster, Bawtry, London and Loughborough.
