About Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity is a Church of England parish church in Everton, Nottinghamshire, near Doncaster. It remains an active place of worship and holds Grade II* listed status. The church shares a parish with churches in Clayworth, Gringley-on-the-Hill and Mattersey.

Originating in the 11th century, the building was altered during each succeeding century through to the 1500s. Restoration took place in 1841, followed by further enlargement in 1843 as Everton’s population grew. The chancel was lengthened towards the east, and an annex was constructed on its southern side. A broader programme of restoration followed in 1869, when the floor level was reduced and the gargoyles were taken down.
