About All Saints' Church, Misterton
All Saints’ Church, Misterton is a Church of England parish church in the Doncaster area of Nottinghamshire. Dedicated to All Saints, it is protected as a Grade I listed building. Since 2022, the church has formed part of the six-parish Oswaldbeck Benefice.
A place of worship existed in Misterton by the eleventh century, while the present building dates largely from around 1250 and reflects additions made through to the Victorian period. Built from dressed stone, rubble and rendered masonry, it includes a nave, chancel, two aisles, south porch, apsidal chapel and western tower. A storm caused serious damage in 1824, and restoration followed in 1848, including work to the tower and north aisle and the addition of its spire. Notable details include medieval arcades, a thirteenth-century font, fragments of medieval stained glass and a striking 1966 Holy Cross Chapel window designed by John Piper.
