Church life in Kent
Kent is where English Christianity began. Augustine landed on the Isle of Thanet in 597, and Canterbury Cathedral remains the mother church of the worldwide Anglican Communion. St Martin's in Canterbury is reckoned the oldest church building in the English-speaking world still in use, while villages across the county keep medieval parish churches at their heart.
