The Church of St James is a Church of England parish church on Church Hill in Taunton, Somerset. Dedicated to St James the Less, it remains part of the Anglican parish and holds Grade I listed status.
The church has Norman origins, with surviving work from the 12th and 13th centuries, including its tower. Most of the present structure was constructed during the 15th century, and the north aisle followed in about 1546. A restoration took place in 1900. Its walls use local red sandstone formed during the Triassic period, complemented by Hamstone detailing. Inside, a fan-vaulted rood screen is a notable feature, although sections of the formerly larger screen were taken away in 1803.
