About All Saints
All Saints is a Church of England parish church on Church Road in Trull, near Taunton in Somerset. It serves a parish joined with Angersleigh, within the Taunton deanery, and is listed at Grade I for its historic and architectural importance.
Religious life here was supported by the community at Taunton Priory up to 1308. The earliest surviving fabric is the base of the thirteenth-century tower. A southern aisle followed during the fourteenth century, with its northern counterpart added in the fifteenth. Medieval glass in the eastern window portrays Christ on the cross, accompanied by his mother and St John. Six bells are housed in the tower, including two produced before the English Reformation. Other features include carved sixteenth-century seating ends showing an unusual pre-Reformation ceremonial procession, and a pulpit thought to be of similar age. The pulpit was relocated during works undertaken around 1863. Charles Eamer Kempe designed a commemorative window installed in 1899.
