About St Mary Magdalene
St Mary Magdalene is a Church of England parish church at Walkeringham, in the Doncaster area of Nottinghamshire. The medieval building is protected at Grade I. It forms part of the Oswaldbeck Benefice, which has united six local parishes since 2022. The church has not opened for regular worship since 2018, when falling roof material made its closure necessary.
Dating from the 13th century, the church underwent roof repairs that were completed by July 2021. Its pipe organ, made in 1864 and silent for two decades, was also restored. A service celebrating the feast of the church’s patron saint took place on 22 July 2021, although further building work was still required before regular services could resume.
