St Martin Coney Street is an Anglican parish church on Coney Street in York, North Yorkshire. Shared with St Helen’s on Stonegate as part of one parish, it belongs to the Church of England and has Grade II* protection.
Its origins reach back to the eleventh century, while the tower was erected in the fifteenth. York architects J. B. and W. Atkinson carried out extensive work in 1853–54, including reconstructed aisle sections, two porches, renewed battlements and glass by William Wailes. Following heavy air-raid damage on 29 April 1942, George Pace oversaw reconstruction from 1961 until 1968. A nine-metre medieval window illustrating the story of Martin of Tours escaped destruction after being taken down in 1940; it was later installed on the north side. Other notable fittings include Harry Stammers’ 1963 window recalling York’s bombed churches and a Walker pipe organ dating from 1968.
