St Matthew’s Church, Chapel Allerton is a Church of England church on Wood Lane in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Recognised for its architectural importance, it has held Grade II* listed status since 1963.
The present church was constructed in 1897–98, replacing a smaller predecessor that later became derelict and was demolished in 1935. George Frederick Bodley designed the building, which was erected by the Bristol firm Stephens and Baslow using ashlar of Bath and Ancaster stone. Its exterior features slender buttresses and a clock tower crowned by crenellations. Inside are recessed three-light windows with quatrefoil detailing, stained glass by Burlison and Grylls, a flagstone floor and a timber barrel-vaulted ceiling over the nave. An organ occupies a mezzanine at the eastern end of the north aisle, while the reredos is fashioned from carved timber with gilded decoration.
