About St Anne's

St Anne’s is a Church of England parish church on Newcastle Avenue in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Built for Anglican worship, it continues to serve as a parish church and is protected for its architectural and historic significance with Grade II listed status.

Completed in 1911, the church was designed by the Lancaster architectural practice Austin and Paley in a Perpendicular Gothic style inspired by the 15th century. Inside is an alabaster tomb with a canopy commemorating Sir John Robinson, who funded the building. Designed by Henry Paley, the monument includes Albert Toft’s reclining figure carved from Carrara marble. The historic pipe organ began life as an 1852 instrument by Gray & Davison for a Congregational church in Clapham. After a later period at St John’s in Buckley, Flintshire, it was transferred here by Goetze and Gwynn in 1999. The church also has a ring of ten bells.
