St Peter’s is an active Church of England parish church on Church Street in Ruddington, within Nottinghamshire and close to Nottingham. Dating in its present form from 1888, the church has Grade II listed protection.
Its origins lie in a chapel dedicated to St Mary, known to have existed by 1459. This became the local parish church following the loss of the medieval building at nearby Flawford in 1773. Repairs took place in 1718, followed by substantial reconstruction in 1824, when the historic chancel and steeple were preserved. Manchester architects Bell and Roper redesigned the building again from 1887, leaving the tower intact. Bishop of Southwell George Ridding dedicated the completed £12,000 church on 1 November 1888. That year, G. & F. Cope of Nottingham supplied a clock for the tower. The font may have originated at Flawford, and Brindley & Foster of Sheffield built the three-manual organ in 1908.
