About St Mary's Church
St Mary’s Church is an active Anglican parish church in Bleasby, Nottinghamshire, in the Nottingham area. It is protected as a Grade II listed building and belongs to a shared parish alongside the churches of St James in Halloughton, St Michael in Hoveringham and St Peter at Thurgarton Priory.
The church has medieval origins dating to the thirteenth century, rather than a precisely documented single building year. Its fabric underwent restoration in 1853, followed by further work in 1869 under the architect Ewan Christian. Among its notable fittings is a pipe organ made in 1863 by Gray & Davison. This instrument dates from the period between the two nineteenth-century restoration campaigns and remains a documented feature of the building.
