About Lincoln Baptist Church
Lincoln Baptist Church is associated with 9 Croft Street in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. The former Baptist chapel described in central Lincoln stands on Mint Lane and Mint Street, within a designated conservation area. It ceased religious use in 1980 and the premises are now occupied by an estate agency.
The chapel was constructed in 1870 with facilities for a Sunday school. A separate school building dating from 1897 survives beside it and has Grade II status, together with the wall marking its boundary. After the chapel was declared surplus to requirements, it closed during the same year. Both the former worship space and the Sunday school have since been adapted for commercial use.
