About Church of Holy Trinity

The Church of Holy Trinity is a Church of England parish church in Blacktoft, Lincolnshire. It has held Grade II listed status since 1966 and serves as the village’s parish church.

A chapel at Blacktoft was documented in 1202, and a separate parish was established in 1784 after centuries of association with Brantingham. John Harper designed a rebuilding completed in 1841 at a cost of £1,640, partly met by selling materials from the earlier structure. The stone church is roofed in Welsh slate and comprises a nave, northern vestry, chancel with a many-sided apse, and a three-stage western tower. Notable details include the tower’s battlements, buttresses, arched entrance and paired bell openings. The interior retains the earlier chancel arch, together with box pews and a gallery at the west end. Stained glass by Harry Harvey appears in two windows.
