St Mary the Virgin is an active Church of England parish church on Church Road in Cowes, Isle of Wight, beside Northwood House. It is designated as a Grade II* listed building and shares a benefice with Holy Trinity Church in Cowes.
A church was first established on the site in 1657, under the Commonwealth. Joseph Richards designed a chancel added in 1811, followed in 1816 by John Nash’s west tower, an unusual example of Greek Revival architecture. In 1867, Arthur Cates rebuilt every part except Nash’s tower in the Gothic Revival style, creating the main body of the present church. The church also contains a two-manual pipe organ originally made by Henry Willis & Sons.
