About St Ann's Church
St Ann’s Church is an Evangelical Anglican parish church in the St Ann’s area of South Tottenham, London. It belongs to the Church of England and remains active, with a Sunday service held at 10.30 am. The building is recognised for its architectural and historic importance through its Grade II* listed status.
Founded in 1860, the church was dedicated the following year. Thomas Talbot Bury designed the building, while its construction was financed by local businessman Fowler Newsam. His connection with the neighbourhood is also commemorated by Fowler Newsam Hall, which stands across from the church in Avenue Road. The organ predates the building: made in 1842, it was acquired from Crosby Hall in London and placed in the church in 1862.
