The Parish Church of St Mary is a Church of England parish church in Ely, Cambridgeshire. It stands close to Ely Cathedral, with the Bishop’s Palace to its east. The church remains a place of parish worship and has held Grade I listed status since 1950, recognising its particular historic and architectural importance.
The church’s origins are dated to 1082, although most of the surviving building was constructed during the 13th century. A substantial medieval tithe barn once occupied a site directly beyond the western edge of the churchyard. Known as Sextry Barn, it also dated from the 13th century but did not survive into the modern period, having been pulled down in 1842.
