Christ Church is a Church of England church in Worthing, West Sussex. This Grade II* listed building stands in the town centre and serves the parish of Christ Church and Holy Trinity. It is the second-oldest surviving Anglican church in central Worthing, after nearby St Paul’s.
Designed by John Elliott and funded through public subscriptions, the church was constructed from 1840 to 1843. It was consecrated in 1843, together with its burial grounds, and was intended to provide worship for poorer residents who could not use the proprietary chapel at St Paul’s. Initially associated with St Mary’s in Broadwater, it became a parish church in 1855. The prominent flint building rises to about 85 feet. Its organ, made by J. J. Binns in 1892 for a Methodist church in Rochdale, was rebuilt, enlarged and installed here in 1970.
