About All Saints Church

All Saints Church is an Anglican place of worship on Hammingden Lane at Highbrook, near Haywards Heath in West Sussex. Serving a community formerly within West Hoathly’s extensive parish, the church has held Grade II protection since 1983 in recognition of its special historic and architectural character.

The building was finished in 1884 after sisters Frances Kirby and Caroline Weguelin financed a more accessible church for Highbrook. Richard Carpenter and Benjamin Ingelow created its Gothic Revival design, using stone quarried locally. A shingled broach spire crowns the tower at the north-east corner, while the interior includes richly detailed arches and traceried windows. Clayton and Bell supplied the stained glass from 1885 to 1892; the large eastern window honours the sisters’ parents. Marble features include the reredos and the chancel’s chequered black and white paving, installed in 1933. Memorials inside also commemorate the founders.
