About All Saints Parish Church
All Saints Parish Church stands on Vicarage Road in King’s Heath, Birmingham. It remains an active Anglican parish within Birmingham’s diocese and is designated as a Grade II listed building.
Edward Holmes and Frederick Preedy were responsible for the original design, completed in 1860. Henry Pepys, then Worcester’s bishop, formally dedicated it on 26 July that year, and the spire was finished six years later. Alterations by J. A. Chatwin in 1883 introduced a northern aisle together with space for the organ and clergy rooms. J. P. Sharp expanded the building at its western end in 1899. The church received its first organ in about 1864. Later instruments included one brought from Blackheath in London in 1892 and a Nicholson and Co organ fitted in 1926. A digital model made by Phoenix took its place in 2008.
