About Mission Church

Mission Church is a Church of England place of worship in Street, Somerset. It was established to provide additional accommodation for the growing parish of Holy Trinity and continues the presence begun by an iron chapel on the site in 1898.

The temporary building remained in use for much of the twentieth century, but structural problems led to plans for its replacement during the 1980s. Its final service took place in December 1989, and the present church was completed and dedicated in November 1990. Designed by Norman Cant at a cost of £300,000, it is built of Blue Lias stone and seats 250 people. The bellcote, organ and several furnishings from the former iron church were incorporated into the new building.
