The Church of St Mary serves the Church of England parish at Compton Dando, in Somerset near Bristol. It is within the Bath and Wells diocese and shares a benefice with Publow and Pensford, Chelwood and Compton Dando. Worship is held on Sundays at 10.00 am, and the building has Grade II* protection.
The church was first constructed during the 1300s in the Gothic tradition, followed by several periods of alteration. The chancel bears the year 1735, probably marking one such phase, while the greater part of the surviving structure reflects nineteenth-century restoration. At the western end, a square tower of three levels is strengthened by angled buttresses and contains a set of six bells. Inside are a piscina and a pulpit and font installed in 1833. The burial ground also includes a sundial.
