About Church of All Saints
The Church of All Saints is an active Church of England parish church serving Wrington, near Bristol in Somerset. Established in the early 13th century, it is recognised as a Grade I listed building and retains fabric from that period.
Most of the present church was shaped between 1420 and 1450, when the nave and aisles were rebuilt and the substantial western tower was added. Its Perpendicular Gothic features include a tall clerestory, traceried windows, pierced parapets, gargoyles and a timber tie-beam roof. The 35-metre tower has four stages, corner pinnacles, a fan-vaulted interior and a large stained-glass window. Extensive work in 1859–60 altered the fittings and chancel, introduced new windows and moved the organ beneath the tower. The tower was repaired in 1948, while an eight-month programme completed in 2017 conserved the ceilings, cleaned the stonework and installed renewed flooring with underfloor heating.
