St. Mary’s Church, on Main Road in Radcliffe-on-Trent near Nottingham, serves an Anglican parish in Nottinghamshire. It belongs to the Church of England and forms a joint parish alongside St Peter and St Paul’s in Shelford. Its Grade II designation reflects its recognised historic and architectural importance.
A place of worship existed on the site in medieval times, but few traces of the earlier structure remain. Charles Bailey, an architect from Newark-on-Trent, designed the chancel, which dates to 1858. Joseph Goddard and Alfred Henry Paget, both associated with Leicester, created the remainder of the present building in 1879–80. Eight bells made in 1947 by the Loughborough firm Taylors hang in the church; the largest has a weight of 15 hundredweight.
