St Martin’s Church stands in Trevose Gardens, Sherwood, within Nottingham. It serves as a Church of England parish church and is designated Grade II. Alongside regular Sunday worship, it runs midweek groups for toddlers, babies and expectant parents, as well as the Nourish Sherwood food project.
Designed by Edward Heazell, the church welcomed its first congregation in 1937. Its architecture follows the Byzantine tradition, and Henry Mosley, Bishop of Southwell, conducted the consecration ceremony on 6 February 1937. A Harrison and Harrison pipe organ was fitted during the same year. Built in 1907, the instrument had earlier been used at St Luke’s in Chelsea before being transferred to Nottingham.
