About St Helen's Church

St Helen's Church stands on Vicarage Lane in Kneeton, within Nottinghamshire. It belongs to the Church of England and serves as the village’s parish church. Its shared parish arrangements also include St Peter’s in East Bridgford. The building is recognised for its historic and architectural interest through its Grade II designation.

Originating in the 1300s, the church underwent extensive work under the architect Ewan Christian from 1879 until 1890, when sections were renewed as part of the restoration. The organ, built by the Leicester firm Taylor, previously belonged to Methodist congregations at Wigston Magna, Markfield and Castle Donington. It was later used by Nottingham’s Bluecoat School before David Butterworth fitted it at St Helen’s in 1978.
