About St Helen's Church
St Helen’s Church is a Church of England parish church at Burton Joyce in the Nottingham area of Nottinghamshire. It remains in parish use and shares its parish arrangements with Holy Trinity at Bulcote and St Luke’s at Stoke Bardolph. The church is protected as a Grade I listed building, reflecting its particular historic and architectural importance.
The church originated in the early 13th century, with 1201 given as its construction date. Its south aisle was added in 1725. In 1878, architect T. H. Wyatt rebuilt the arcades. An organ made by Lloyd and Dudgeon was installed the following year. That instrument was later replaced in 2005 by the present organ, built by Principal Pipe Organs.
