About St Ann with Emmanuel
St Ann with Emmanuel is a Church of England parish church serving the St Ann’s area of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. The church continues the parish presence formerly associated with two separate places of worship in the city, bringing their identities together under its present name.
The church opened in 1974 as the successor to the earlier St Ann’s Church and Emmanuel Church on Woodborough Road. St Ann’s, designed by Robert Clarke, had been demolished in 1971. Emmanuel, whose architect was Watson Fothergill, was demolished the following year, in 1972. The present church therefore dates from the early 1970s and represents the replacement of both former buildings, rather than a rebuilding or restoration of either one.
