About Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity is a Church of England parish church on Main Street in Ratcliffe-on-Soar, Nottinghamshire, near Nottingham. It remains in parish use and is protected at Grade I, recognising its exceptional historic interest. The church also belongs to an informal group of five neighbouring churches situated around the A453.
Originating in the thirteenth century, with a date of about 1250, the church underwent substantial restoration in 1886. Earl Howe funded the work, which cost £830. Inside are several alabaster memorials commemorating members of the Sacheverell family, dating from the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. A single-manual pipe organ was acquired from the church at Kingston on Soar in 1936; electric power was added in 1946, and it was relocated to the north aisle in 1973. The tower contains three bells whose uneven intervals prevent a harmonious sound when rung together.
