Christ Church is an active Anglican parish church at 587 Nuthall Road in Cinderhill, Nottingham. Dating to the mid-19th century, it is protected as a Grade II listed building and remains part of the Church of England.
Completed in 1856, the church was designed by Thomas Chambers Hine for miners connected with Thomas North’s Babbington Colliery. It began as a subsidiary place of worship associated with St Leodegarius in Basford. John Jackson, who was then the Bishop of Lincoln, consecrated the building on 19 June 1856. Cinderhill was established as an independent ecclesiastical district in 1896, leading to the appointment of its earliest chaplains. An additional vestry intended for the choir was completed in 1902. In 1929, the church received the formal designation District Chapelry of Christ Church Cinderhill, with the Bishop of Southwell serving as patron.
