Christ Church is an active Church of England parish church in Chilwell, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. It serves as the parent church of St Barnabas in Inham Nook and began as a mission connected with St Mary’s parish in Attenborough.
Constructed from 1901 to 1903, the church was formally consecrated on 3 July 1915 by Edwin Hoskyns, Bishop of Southwell. Vestries were introduced in 1950, followed in 1957 by a chancel designed by architect Eric Vernon Royle. An organ made by Gray and Davison, installed in 1937 and refurbished in 1956, was transferred to St Vincent’s Church in Caythorpe in 1986. The present instrument, built by Nigel Church in 1984, uses mechanical action.
