About St Peter & St Paul
St Peter & St Paul is the Church of England parish church serving Harrington, near Northampton in Northamptonshire. Situated beside Church Lane on the village’s north-eastern side, it remains part of a shared benefice with Arthingworth, East Farndon and Oxendon, while retaining its own church building. It is protected as a Grade II* listed building.
Most of the present church dates from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, although its south tower was added in 1809. The building includes a nave with aisles on both sides, a chancel, north transept and south porch. Among its unusual possessions is the Harrington Vamping Horn, a speaking trumpet associated with Sir Samuel Morland and one of only eight surviving examples in Britain. Six bells, made at the Whitechapel Bell Foundry, were presented by the Earl of Dysart in 1817.
