About St Andrew
St Andrew is the Church of England parish church for Arthingworth, situated on the northern side of Braybrooke Road in the Market Harborough area of Northamptonshire. It remains part of a united benefice with East Farndon, Harrington and Oxendon, while each community retains its own church. The building is protected at Grade II*.
The Domesday survey of 1086 records neither a church nor a priest in the parish, although this may simply reflect the lack of a resident clergyman. Most of the present structure dates from the 12th and 14th centuries and was restored during the 19th century. Its plan includes a nave, aisles on both sides, a chancel and a tower at the western end. Parish registers survive from 1650.
