About All Saints

All Saints is a Church of England parish church on Main Street, serving Sutton Bassett in the Market Harborough area of Northamptonshire. It remains the village parish church and is protected as a Grade II listed building. Unlike many churches serving historic parishes, it has no churchyard for burials.

The church was founded in the twelfth century, although some assessments place its origins in the closing years of the eleventh century. It was established as a dependent chapel of St Mary’s in the neighbouring village of Weston by Welland. Initially under the Diocese of Lincoln, it became part of the Diocese of Peterborough in 1539. Its early date reflects a long ecclesiastical history, while the listed designation recognises the significance of the surviving building.
