About Church of All Saints
The Church of All Saints is a Church of England parish church in Filey, North Yorkshire, serving the village of Muston. It remains the village’s parish church and has been protected as a Grade II listed building since 1966.
Muston had a chapel by 1115, when it formed part of the parish centred on Hunmanby, and a separate vicar was appointed in 1269. The earlier church was taken down in 1863 and replaced on the same site to plans by William Baldwin Stewart. Built in limestone with a slate-covered roof, the present structure includes a nave with aisles, chancel, vestry and southern porch. Its western gable carries a twin-arched bellcote, with a clock facing east. Two medieval carved heads were incorporated into the porch. Interior features include a Norman font, an altar table supported by an early stone base, a possible stoup and a pillar-shaped piscina.
