About St Peter Parmentergate
St Peter Parmentergate is a medieval former parish church in Norwich, Norfolk. Belonging to the Church of England, it is protected as a Grade I listed building but no longer serves an active congregation. The church now houses an indoor skatepark operated by the charity Community East. A longstanding Norwich skate retailer, Drug Store, moved into the building in 2021, and the skatepark began operating in December 2022.
The church underwent rebuilding in 1486. It remained in parish use until 1980, when worshippers transferred to St Julian’s Church in Norwich. Its former Norman and Beard pipe organ was later relocated to Norwich School. The vestry was leased to the Magdalene Group in 1994. From 2005 the building accommodated the Norwich Centre for Martial Arts, and in 2019 it was adapted as a training venue for medieval combat.
