About All Saints Church of England
All Saints Church of England is a Church of England place of worship on Church Street in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire. The church is used for worship and community gatherings, and its tower forms a notable local landmark. It is protected as a Grade II listed building.
The present church dates from 1838 and replaced an earlier medieval building. Designed by W. A. Nicholson in the manner associated with early nineteenth-century Commissioners’ churches, it was built using pale yellow brick and limestone, with finely worked stone details. The medieval predecessor was declared redundant and taken down during the 1980s so that the neighbouring burial ground could be enlarged. Its former site is now protected as a scheduled monument. Among the church’s notable features are significant stained-glass windows and the prominent tower with its clock.
