About Saint Botolph
Saint Botolph is a Church of England parish church in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. It remains in active use, with regular worship, weddings and community events. The building is protected at Grade I, reflecting its considerable historic and architectural importance.
Built during the 12th century, around 1150, the church was altered both internally and externally in the 13th and 15th centuries. Further restoration took place in 1819 and 1908. Its architecture spans several periods, including a Norman doorway on the north side, an Early English Gothic arcade, and later Decorated and Perpendicular work. Inside is a notable funerary monument from about 1370, showing a knight alongside his wife.
