About All Saints

All Saints is a Church of England church on Church Street in Leicester, Leicestershire. Dating from 1250, it is protected as a Grade I listed building.

The church includes a nave, chancel, vestry, southern aisle, tower and spire. Rob Biggs constructed the aisle roof in 1630, while Thomas Exon added a nave gallery supported by fluted columns around 1740. The Revd Henry James Hoskyns oversaw renovation work in 1846, with Stephen Fry completing the roof before the building reopened the following year. Further repairs began a decade later, addressing the tower and spire, which had remained partly damaged since 1828. This phase also introduced a porch and replacement windows, alongside restoration of the chancel. The spire was reconstructed during the period from 1900 to 1914, and stained glass with new tracery followed in 1951.
