About Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity is a Church of England church on Church Road in Preston, Lancashire. Built to serve the Anglican community, it remains a church within the Church of England tradition. Its origins lie in the late nineteenth century, when a larger place of worship was needed for the local population.

Completed in 1886, the church succeeded the older St Mary’s Church, which stood at the edge of the village and had become too small for those wishing to attend. Construction cost £6,138, while a further £2,600 was spent on the steeple and bells. The steeple later required repairs in 1968, at a recorded cost of £3,500.
