Avenue St Andrew’s Church is a United Reformed church on The Avenue in Southampton, Hampshire. It continues a long Nonconformist tradition in the city and occupies a building recognised at Grade II for its historic significance.
Its roots extend to a congregation established in 1662 under the Revd Nathaniel Robinson, where hymn writer Isaac Watts’s father served as a deacon. Successive chapels were built in 1727 and 1819–20 as attendance increased, but the later building was lost to German bombing in November 1940. Avenue Congregational Church had opened in 1898. Following the formation of the United Reformed Church in 1972, it later united with St Andrew’s Presbyterian congregation, founded in 1853, and took its present name.
