About All Saints
All Saints is a Church of England place of worship on High Street in Botley, within the Southampton area of Hampshire. Standing near the village centre, it has legal protection as a Grade II listed building.
The church was erected in 1835–36 following serious damage to the older St Bartholomew’s, which stood beyond the village. James William Wild designed the Gothic Revival structure in yellow brick, and its dedication took place in August 1836. A Walker organ was fitted in 1852, while John Colson designed the chancel and choir vestry added in 1859. Enlargements in 1892 and 1895 introduced an arcade resting on oak supports, additional roof windows and a new western vestibule. A church room followed in 1967, and a two-level addition at the west end was finished in 2008. Historic items brought from St Bartholomew’s include a Norman font, a medieval wall monument and three early 15th-century bells.
