About All Saints' Church

All Saints’ Church is a Church of England parish church serving Fawley, in the Southampton area of Hampshire. One of the Waterside’s three surviving medieval parish churches, it remains an active place of worship and is protected as a Grade I listed building.

The present church was constructed in two main phases, around 1170–1210 and 1300–1340, possibly incorporating fabric from an earlier church recorded in 971. St Nicholas’s Chapel is its earliest surviving section, while a porch was built at the western entrance in 1840. Bombing in November 1940 caused extensive damage and destroyed the medieval glazing. Repairs were completed before the church was reconsecrated in September 1954. Fragments of recovered glass form a collage in the chapel’s west window. The six bells include four older bells, the earliest dating to 1603, supplemented by two trebles in 1909.
