About St Sadwrn's Church
St Sadwrn’s Church is a Church of England place of worship in Llansadwrn, near Menai Bridge in Gwynedd, Wales. Dedicated to the Welsh saint Sadwrn, it is recognised for its special architectural and historic interest. The building has held Grade II* listed status since 30 January 1968.
The present church dates from 1881 and occupies the foundations of an earlier medieval building. Its architect was Henry Kennedy, who was based in Bangor. A particularly notable feature inside is an inscribed stone dating from the sixth century. This ancient memorial commemorates Sadwrn and provides a physical connection with the saint to whom the church is dedicated.
