About Church Of St Michael
The Church of St Michael is a Church of England church in Llanddona, Gwynedd, Wales. Its Grade II* status recognises its special architectural and historic importance. The designation was granted on 30 January 1968, reflecting the significance of its surviving medieval fabric and later development.
A church at the site was recorded in the Norwich Taxation of 1254, although the present structure largely originated in the early 15th century. It underwent a substantial rebuilding in 1855. The chancel arch is the oldest surviving element and belongs to the 15th-century phase. Framed windows in the south wall, positioned below the level of the chancel, also survive from that period and provide further evidence of the medieval building.
