About St Gwenllwyfo's Church, Llanwenllwyfo
St Gwenllwyfo’s Church, Llanwenllwyfo, is a Church of England parish church near Dulas in Gwynedd, Wales. Set within a churchyard beside a country road, it remains an active place of worship. The church is protected at Grade II* for its architectural significance and notable stained glass.
Constructed from 1854 to 1856, the church replaced a smaller medieval building that had fallen into poor condition. Henry Kennedy, architect to the Bangor diocese, designed it in the Gothic Revival manner. Rubble stonework with gritstone dressings supports a slate-covered roof, while a buttressed western tower rises to a spire. An eighteenth-century bell was transferred from the former church. Inside, the nave extends across four bays, followed by a two-bay chancel. Particularly important are 27 Flemish glass panels dating from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, presented by Sir Arundell Neave in 1876.
