About All Hallows
All Hallows is an active Church of England parish church on Erncroft Way in Twickenham, Greater London. Standing close to Chertsey Road and Twickenham Stadium, it is protected as a Grade I listed building. Regular worship includes Sunday services, daily prayer and a midweek Eucharist.
The present church was designed by Robert Atkinson, with its foundation stone set in 1939 and consecration following in 1940. Its brick basilican body was planned around elements transferred from the demolished All Hallows in Lombard Street, London. These include Christopher Wren’s square stone tower, a cloister, furnishings and bells. Notable interior features include a richly carved seventeenth-century reredos, an oak entrance decorated with skull-and-crossbones motifs, and a pulpit once used by John Wesley. A 1695 organ by Renatus Harris stands in the west gallery, while the tower contains ten bells.
