About Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Church is a Church of England parish church on Trinity Rise in Tulse Hill, within Lambeth in south London. It serves the parish of Holy Trinity and St Matthias and is protected as a Grade II listed building. John Sentamu, who later became Archbishop of York, served here as vicar for 13 years.

The parish was established in 1856 using areas previously belonging to churches in West Norwood, Brixton and Streatham. The church follows a design influenced by fourteenth-century architecture. Its load-bearing brick structure is faced with Kentish ragstone and covered by a slate roof. The layout includes an aisled nave, transepts and an apsidal chancel, arranged to provide clear views of the altar and pulpit without obstructing columns. A northern entrance sits beneath a tower topped by a broach spire in dressed Bath stone. Three apse windows contain stained glass by Clare Dawson.
