About Chapel to Duke of York's Headquarters
The Chapel to Duke of York's Headquarters stands within the wider headquarters complex beside King's Road in Chelsea, London. Dating from the early nineteenth century, the chapel is protected at Grade II* for its special architectural and historic interest. It no longer serves solely as a religious building and has more recently accommodated commercial uses.
The chapel was constructed in 1824. At one stage, the building was occupied by a shop belonging to the clothing company Jigsaw. In September 2021 it became Soho Home Studio, operated by Soho House. This later use combines a showroom selling furnishings and household goods with a café, placing a contemporary retail business within the historic chapel. Its continuing inclusion in the Duke of York's Headquarters preserves its connection with the surrounding Chelsea complex.
