About Church of St Andrew

The Church of St Andrew is the Church of England parish church for Boynton, near Bridlington in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Dating principally from the 15th century, it has held Grade I listed status since 1966.

Its stone west tower, built around 1450, is the oldest surviving section. The nave and chancel were reconstructed in brick with stone detailing from 1768 to 1770, perhaps following plans by John Carr, and the tiled roof completes the structure. John Bilson altered parts of the interior in 1910 and added an entrance for clergy. Notable furnishings include a font thought to date from the 1100s and reshaped during the 18th century, a double screen across the chancel, Victorian pews, and memorials from the 1600s and 1700s. William Peckitt created the painted east-window glass in 1768.
